[OpenLayers-Users] WFS basic auth

I have turned on wfs.Transaction security on Geoserver, and get an error 
now when I try to save a modified feature.|| The error I get is:

Some unexpected error occurred. Error text was: HTTP Error 401: Full 
authentication is required to access this resource

I am using proxy.cgi to connect to Geoserver on port 8080. As I 
understand I should get a Basic Auth window, but all I get is this error 
in firebug.

What do I need to do to get this configured?
