[OpenLayers-Users] OpenLayers.Layer.WMS - using SVG Format?

Agree.  I am fairly sure that IE8 doesn't natively support SVG.  If you
are using a browser plugin or addon to render your SVG, you might need
to check its capabilities/compatibility.
