[OpenLayers-Users] Ecxeption Handling

I'm implementing an application that uses geoserver deployed on apache
tomcat. and I would like to know if there is a way to handle the broken when
geoserver is hung or if I lost the connection with database.
How openlayers can handle the error ? I searched for exception handler for
this situation but couldn't find anything.
