[OpenLayers-Users] Setting a renderer after a vector layer's construction

Hello all, I am trying to set a vector layer's renderer after it's
initial construction. The reason for this is, I need to clone another
layer to get the features and then I want to use a Canvas renderer
with the new layer. I tried vectorLayer.prototype.renderers = ... but
I received an error about prototype being undefined.

Any ideas?
