[OpenLayers-Users] Canvas renderer causing fill in style map, to be gnored

So, is there a bug in OpenLayers that you had to hack in a fix for, or
is this something that just wasn't supported yet?

I need the canvas renderer to 'draw' the map tiles to a canvas, but I
don't need it for rendering the features on the map.
