[OpenLayers-Users] using Request.GET vs. Layer with strategy, protocol, format

Found it. Wierd.
Here's the Python that I'm returning for the GeoJSON request:

            "type": "FeatureCollection",
            "features": [
              {"geometry": {
                  "type": "GeometryCollection",
                  "geometries": [
                      {
                          "type":"Point",
                          "coordinates":[-98.4375, 39.774769]
                          #"coordinates":[merc_x(-98.4375), merc_y(39.774769)]
                      }
                  ]
              },
              "type": "Feature",
              "id": "OpenLayers.Feature.Vector_107",
              "properties": {}}
            ]
         }

The commented out portion works with "A" below. The uncommented works
with "B". Somehow the transformation is not needed when using "B".

I don't understand transforms well enough to comment.
