[OpenLayers-Users] Support for SLD Functions?

I'm wondering what the status is of adding support for SLD Functions to
OpenLayers.  In particular, I would like to see support for the
geometryType filtering function as described at this URL...

There was some discussion about this in the following trac ticket...

That was 4 years ago.  Does anyone know if this is even on the horizon?
