[OpenLayers-Users] Custom layer switcher

Hi,
you're probably looking for the "ascending" attribute. It's not well 
documented.

Try:
new OpenLayers.Control.LayerSwitcher({'div': 
document.getElementById('layerSwitcher'),"ascending":false})
