I appreciate the efforts of Stephen and yourself to help me with my
difficulties!
However, unless I am misunderstanding some of what you are saying, I don't
think the circle *is* 1600m wide -- if it was, it would be the same size as
one of the mile squares. I think the circle *and* scales are both wrong
(?). I suspect that if I were to 'fix' the circle size, that the 'scale'
would be fixed at the same time (?).
Now, for a solution, I can certainly try the math adjustment that you
suggest, but if there is a better projection for me to use in my code to
avoid any unnecessary unit conversions, please let me know how to do so.
