[OpenLayers-Users] Kinetic in openlayers

HI;
I am new in openlayers,and I found that the kinetic dragging make the map pan rather smooth and fast.

However,when I read the source code of the kinetic,I can not understand what it does.

It seems that it split the work into small parts and execute it.

However,if this is true,then what is the difference between kinetic and the animation?
