[OpenLayers-Users] Request for New Example

I have been trying to make my geojson layer popups center on the point that
the user clicks, rather than moving to the centroid of the selected
polygon.

I have been working with information from the standard examples for KML
popups http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/sundials.html
and http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/click.html  for using the lat / lon
from the click event.

I have seen may posts where there has been a need to do this, but none with
a clear, usable answer.

Would it be possible to publish an example that has a popup from a vector
layer, rather than an alert, centered on the click location?
