[OpenLayers-Users] Select Control

I have a select control setup on a vector layer of polygons.  When  a
polygon is selected, I use a popup to show the identifier of the polygon.
For some reason I have to click on the beginning point of the polygon for it
to be selected.  I want to be able to click anywhere inside the polygon for
it to be selected.  Any ideas as to why selecting inside the polygon does
not work?
