[osgeo4w-dev] Python 2.6

Hi, Are there plans to move to a more recent version of Python (2.6)?  

Until
then, how would I go about installing a more recent version.  Is it as
simple as copying the contents of c:\python26 into c:\osgeo4w\apps\ and
then changing PYTHONHOME in the python.bat to use my new version?
