I believe Howard used MS Visual Studio 10 to build the liblas components
and we will need to add the corresponding runtime to the msvcrt package.
I have created a ticket for this issue:
http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/ticket/212
and I will make an attempt to address it myself if I can. Otherwise we
will need to wait for Howard to return from the lidar conference to address
it.
