[osgeo4w-dev] gdal-python for py2.7 is broken

Jürgen,
The 2.7 gdal-python scripts, e.g. gdal_merge.py, don't find the osgeo or
gdal modules.
I see the testing package for gdal-python installs to
".../apps/Python27/Lib/site-packages/GDAL-1.8.0-py2.7-win32.egg/osgeo"
whereas the old gdal-python is simply
".../apps/Python25/Lib/site-packages/osgeo".
If I move the contents up to ../site-packages then the scripts work. I
assume this means the .egg directory structure is an oversite, or were
you meaning to move to using easy_install to complete the install?
