The last time I build that it was for GDAL 1.6. 

Jürgen,

The "gdal-oracle" package that is now on the installer is based on GDAL 1.8 but the users can't get it to work, so I guess it would be easier just to replace it by a binary build against 1.9. I can build that if you want or you can get it from Tamas website:
