[osgeo4w-dev] Netcdf version for gdal

Dear list,

Netcdf  version shipped with gdal for Windows is very outdated. Please see
the related ticket here:
https://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/ticket/293

Is there any technical reason to have the older netcdf? If it is due to the
time/work required to update the package, feel free to drop me an email
(off-the-list) with your estimate. We might be able to fund the upgrade as
it is causing some issues with QGIS users.
