I don't have plans for that.  Who want's to use 2.18 after it's EOL can still
install from the standalones.

The currently available one.

Updating it sometime before a qgis point release would be better - I'd stay
with 7.4 for now.  So there is a chance that it can at least be tested with
some nightlies before the release.
