 Python 2.7+ has a [http://docs.python.org/library/_winreg.html _winreg
 module] which reads like it would fix the 64bit issue. Patch files
 [http://bugs.python.org/issue7347 here], found by way of
 [http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2404595/how-can-i-turn-off-registry-
 redirection-on-python Stack Overflow].
