 Andreas,

 I'm willing to take this on with some support from you and/or Pirmin who I
 have added as a cc.

 I see xerces is already a dependency of GDAL and that ogrinfo --formats
 already reports the interlis 1 and 2 packages.  So I'm guessing we are
 missing the ili2c.jar file.  I am guessing the the proposed gdal-interlis
 package would just include that, and also a dependency on the jvm?

 I see the ili2c.jar pointer on the OGR Interlis driver page is no longer
 working.  Can someone point me to the appropriate version of the file?  I
 have one that is 1874387 bytes long in the GDAL 1.4 source tree I can use
 if it is current.
