Johan,
This is an excellent suggestion.
I acknowledge Brian's concerns about the potential for instability to be
introduced, but saving 400 Meg is a significant saving, and will take
the pressure off us for a while when accepting projects for OSGeo-Live.
I wonder whether you could write a bash script automatically set up this
saving? (It sounds like such a useful task, you might be able to find
such a script on the web somewhere).
