Yes. Extra docs would be good. I was not aware of this information. Looking at some of the other scripts, most icons are still being installed into /usr/share/icons. However, most of the projects are installing their ".desktop" definitions to /usr/share/applications.

the icons moved into folders in the install_desktop.sh script.
You will need to update this script at some point.
Hamish set this up and may add some extra tips on what is required.

Have you been able to work out why the mapguide .deb files are installed
into the ~/gisvm/bin directory instead of /tmp/build_mapguide/ directory?
