[Live-demo] UDig fails LiveDVD testing

Jody,
When testing UDig on the LiveDVD, I can't seem to open up a shapefile, 
(it takes over 5 minutes loading and I keep getting the loading icon, 
but no error message, and no loaded shapefile.

Do you know why this would be? And do you know how we can fix it?
