Johan is right, the best option for projects is to have them move their
applications into debian/ubuntu. (We can create a metaproject,
osgeolive, which installs all osgeolive applications).
The downside to this, which is why only some projects use .deb files is
that we don't have enough people prepared to put in the extra effort
required to create .deb files.
In particular, creating java and tomcat .deb files has been difficult in
the past, although I suspect that this has improved over the last few
ubuntu distributions.
