[Live-demo] OSGeo Live 4.5 - system tray has gone

hi,

I'm running live 4.5 version but since last week I noticed that system 
tray is not available anymore.
Despite I can see default Applications, Places and System menu plus 
time/watch at the right-top position, applications such as Skype or 
Pidgin are not displaying the 'tray-icon' anymore.

Is there any menu option where I can enable this side-tray again? or any 
executable/process to be let at /etc/profile ?
