 neither `okular` or `gv` also on the disc views it well either, although I
 suspect they all use the same ghostscript library.

 (okular is really quite a nice program)


 moreover, my local copy of it is also corrupted, so this problem is
 nothing to do with the live dvd.


 adding Roger to the cc for further advice..
