My suggested marketing driver for labels are:
0. Explain what is inside the DVD ("Geospatial Open Source")
1. Promote OSGeo-Live
2. Promote OSGeo (which is done by the OSGeo-Live logo)
3. Look reasonably good
4. Bonus if we also mention/promote FOSS4G

I think that Alex's last iteration covered all that.
Some of the earlier versions didn't mention OSGeo-Live or OSGeo, also 
some versions had a clash of green osgeo logo with red background colours.
