 thanks, if the second option doesn't work we can fall back to the first
 one and hope for the best.

 one thing you might try is to check for/add to existing JAVA_OPTS:

 else
    JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -DENABLE_JSONP=true -XX:MaxPermSize=128m"
