 I think the goal of using common data sets needs refining.. for major,
 big-on-disk data like detailed maps of the political and geophysical
 world, one set, a strong priority, and strong pushback against single app
 data sets makes a whole lot of sense. But for something that is tiny-on-
 disk, requires a lot of work to integrate, and has far less credibility as
 a "one version fits all" like map icons ?

 Our aspirational goal of common data sets stands, but should rationally be
 viewed proportional to the context. There is no harm in a half-megabyte of
 nice icons with a libre license on the disk, while others decide to
 incorporate it or not.

 ps- inventory and promotion of the cornucopia of resources on the Live is
 always a good thing.
