 Reading this it appears that upgrading from ubuntu 13 to 14 changed the
 embedded browser integration story for eclipse based projects leading to
 failures such as the one experienced above. Adding the setting
 -Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.DefaultType=mozilla to the udig.ini will ask the
 application to use firefox.
