Hi Cameron,
Probably not everyone requesting OSGeo-Live USBs / DVDs would expect to get
them for free. I would even say, that they don't need to be for free.
I think for small events and paid or unpaid workshops it's just a lot of
work to find a shop that prints USB sticks in a good quality for a
reasonable price.
Also you would have to order quite a lot to get a discount. And it happens
unfortunately too often that images on sticks are later not bootable or
there are other issues.
So if OSGeo would be able to negotiate a good price with some USB stick
dealer and maybe cover the shipping costs, that would probably be enough.
To be able to order OSGeo Live sticks that you hand out and you are sure
they work as expected, that saves a lot of work.
