Type: task | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: OSGeoLive18.0 Component: OSGeoLive | Keywords: apple mac arm64 aarch64 -----------------------+------------------------------------- Hello everyone, It would be nice if we could make a second image build for modern Apple Macs which use the arm64 architecture instead of amd64. The alternate architecture is fully supported by Debian/Ubuntu these days so most things should just work, but it may require some work to build 3rd party packages that are supplied by PPAs and not compiled as part of the OSGeoLive build scripts. I'm using VirtualBox on my Mac to successfully run the generic Ubuntu 24.04 LTS xUbuntu iso with our favorite geo packages, it works fine. But if you want to run Intel/AMD amd64 images you need to buy/rent Parallels VM currently, which I'd like to avoid. cheers, Hamish -- Ticket URL: OSGeoLive self-contained bootable DVD, USB thumb drive or Virtual Machine based on Lubuntu, that allows you to try a wide variety of open source geospatial software without installing anything.
