Hello all,
As some of you might have noticed, *the Oskari.org website* has had a
complete facelift this autumn! Not only the website has a fresh new look,
the site has a lot of new content, the documentation has been improved, and
the content from Oskari's blog (oskariorg.github.io) has been moved to the
new website.
Under Discover Oskari you can find the basic information about Oskari and
its possibilities and also *Instructions for Procurement* (
https://oskari.org/discover/procurement). The document was created to
answer the need of JDF (Joint Development Forum) to get some help for
procuring Oskari-related work. While it’s tailored for Oskari map services,
the insights apply to other FOSS4G software as well.
*The documentation *has been rearranged and worked on during this year. The
work is still in progress and the documentation will see more improvements.
If you notice something that's missing, outdated or needs to be worked on,
please send a GitHub issue (or make a PR!) here:
https://github.com/oskariorg/oskari-documentation/issues
*The blog* has been put under the new website and includes new content in
the form of Testing Oskari & how to report bugs:
https://oskari.org/blog/2024-11-19-Testing_Oskari_and_reporting_bugs There's
some new blog posts already ready to be posted on the site, and we'll be
adding them this December and during 2025. On the pipeline are two
interviews with Oskari developers as well as a guest blog with the title
"How to monetize Oskari?" Stay tuned!
The website also includes a *FAQ section*, which answers some of the
frequently asked questions by end-users, admins and developers alike. If
you think that there's something missing in the FAQ or the website in
general, create a GitHub issue to the website's repo:
https://github.com/oskariorg/oskari-documentation-site/issues
In September we held *a webinar about the basics of Oskari*. The webinar
was in Finnish and it included presentations about Oskari for end-users,
Oskari for admins and Oskari for developers. The recordings of these
presentations have been uploaded to Youtube and can be found in this
playlist:

Aside of this e-mail list, Oskari is still active on X (ex-Twitter). We
started *a LinkedIn group *though, and are moving our social media posts
from X to LinkedIn at the beginning of 2025. You are welcome to join in:
