Hi OSGeo'ers ...
DM Solutions Group is planning to expand our Application Development
team in a couple of key areas. We'll be posting job descriptions on
our web site in the next couple of weeks, but I thought I'd give a
heads up to the OSGeo group in case anyone is interested, or knows
someone who would be interested, in one of the positions. Our
timeline for hiring is flexible, but we are planning to start filling
positions in the fall.
We are looking specifically for the following postions:
Junior GIS specialist: This is a junior position for a GIS person to
work with our applications development (consulting) group to support
them in preparation of client data (organisation of data, processing
data, generalisation etc), mapserver mapfile preparation, and other
related tasks. Requires formal GIS education. Previous exposure to
MapServer and/or MapGuide Open Source is an asset but not required.
Reports/responsible to the Manager of Applications Development.
Web Application Developer: This is an intermediate position for a
web developer to work with our applications development (consulting)
group in client projects. Requires a good knowledge of HTML, CSS,
javascript and PHP, some experience with web-based GIS development,
and preferrably some exposure to mapserver, chameleon and related
technologies. This position involves working as part of a team to
implement the application interface and custom development needed to
deliver a complete web-based application to a client. Depending on
the scope of the project, an intermediate developer is normally
responsible for all development tasks for a given project and may be
working on several projects at one time. Reports/responsible to the
Manager of Applications Development.
Junior Web Application Developer: This is a junior position for a web
developer to work with our applications development (consulting)
group in client projects. Requires a good knowledge of HTML, CSS,
javascript and PHP. No previous knowledge of GIS development is
required, but would be an asset. This position involves working as
part of a team to implement small client projects and components of
larger projects under the direct supervision of an intermediate or
senior application developer. Reports/responsible to the Manager of
Applications Development
Cheers
Paul
