[Ottawa_users] osm into gml file on linux

Checked out their wiki...

Looks like they support many formats (
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/index.php/Export#Bulk_downloads) I am
surprised they don't export GPX...

You can always import native GML as Qgis supports that
(http://qgis.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=145&Itemid=11
3)

Looks like you have to do some processing to get OSM to GML

Once in GML then any FOSS4G project that uses GDAL/OGR could probably
handle it. Watch for what version of GML thought depending on build of
OGR.

The python suggestion looks feasible though too...

The secret is to get OSM to GML or SHP and then you're off to the races.
Too bad OSM did not export GML directly. Or use GML to store their own
info anyhow.

Keep us posted.

Cheers
