Subject: NCF update: We're searching for an Executive Director
To: NCF Members <members at ncf.ca>

Hello fellow NCF members,

National Capital FreeNet's board of directors is searching for an
Executive Director to manage and lead NCF's team of staff and volunteers.

A call for applications for the position is included below. Would you
please bring it to the attention of anyone you know who might be interested
in applying? An ad will be placed on various web sites and in appropriate
publications, but your personal word-of-mouth support would be very helpful,
and would help reduce expenses.

The search committee plans to conduct interviews in September. We would
appreciate receiving expressions of interest as soon as possible, no later
than Sunday September 9.

The contributions of traditionally-generous members and volunteers are
as great as ever, and a critical element is to have an Executive Director
to coordinate efforts, pursue opportunities, and simply to make things happen.
Doubling our membership is a key goal, because more members would improve
NCF's economies of scale and allow it to accomplish more for members.

We welcome and will appreciate your email comments and suggestions at
opportunities at ncf.ca.

Thanks for your help,

Mike Kelly, Ken McCarthy, Chris Cope (NCF Board members on the Search
Committee),
assisted by Jim Elder and Shirley Yik
