group to introduce myself. I would appreciate the opportunity to introduce
myself and TheCodeFactory concept in person at the April OSGEO meeting.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>My name is <a href="http://www.klondikeconsulting.com/blog">Ian
Graham</a> and I am the founder of TheCodeFactory, Ottawa’s first
co-working space and consultant to early stage businesses in Ottawa. I am an
active participant in the technology community helping to organize <a
href="http://barcamp.pbwiki.com/DemoCampOttawa8">democamp</a>, on the ebusiness
cluster executive and chair of the CMC technology committee. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class=MsoNormal>TheCodeFactory is inspired by two sources; the coffee shop
meeting and <a href="http://barcamp.pbwiki.com/DemoCampOttawa8">democamp</a>.
The intent is to capture the energy and enthusiasm of democamp and provide a
collaborative, fun and professional work environment. The space has a lounge,
foosball table, meeting rooms, kitchen, printers, casual work space and event
space. The intent is to offer event space free of charge to grass roots
organizations like OSGEO and support the open source community as much as I
can.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>One of the initiatives I am undertaking is to create an
extended open source community ecosystem. A number of other open source groups
have been contacted and the intent is that the sum of open source is greater
than the whole of its parts. I have already meet with Carleton University and
they are supportive of the initiative. I will be meeting with Algonquin College
and the University of Ottawa over the coming weeks. A number of government
organizations that support entrepreneurship and software development will also
be contacted. If you can facilitate a cross pollination of ideas and knowledge
everyone benefits.<o:p></o:p></p>
