I think it's a good time to start integrating Kyle's branch here.

Hi,
 
could anybody give me a hint, how the tests are supposed to be
organized? What is their structure? What to do, if I want to run only
one of them?
 
I would suppose to get rid of external services where ever possible, and
to use prepared XML files stored in some directory under "tests" dir.
