Hi Jay,
Nice to hear from you!
Yes, some discussion is important and we have various tools we can use:
mailing list, Github wiki and issue tracker.
For discussion mailing list (using different threads) would be good, but we
should write down results in the Wiki or create tickets.
I think Steve can bring some valuable input from the Mapserver project.
