"The City of Ottawa, Canada has just opened up their data catalogue in
order to spur, “digital innovation, improved service delivery,
stimulation of economic growth, and a better understanding of the city.”
The initial release of data focuses entirely on geospatial data, but
will include additional data formats in the future.

It’s great that each of the previous open data releases that we’ve
reported on (Vancouver and San Francisco) have made their geospatial
data available for open use. With this Ottawa release, geospatial data
appears to get a boost in importance and impact. After all it’s the only
data source available from Ottawa, and it’s got a long list of lofty
goals to live up to."
