hi markus,
we were very optimistic about entering main debian, and suspended
publishing the packages on debian-gis.
these days, i'm focusing on packaging postgis-1.1 for the multicluster
environment, but i think 1.0.6 should build closely out-of-the-box with
debian diff from postgis-1.0.4.
debian support is ready for major incompatible postgis versions
available: 0.x and 1.x, for every postgresql installed (currently 7.4,
8.0, 8.1).
would it be so important to provide postgis-1.1 along with 1.0? i know,
for experimenting it will be very useful, but debian is mainly a stable
environment.
