hello to all friends,

i am very happy to announce you, that my last month's effort, to make a debian package for the wonderful postgis, came to a successful point that i can provide you the source for this debian package for checking and testing.

the package may be built on either debian woody or sarge.

the packages are being hosted at http://www.home.uos.de/wbaer/downloads/postgis/ thanks to wolfgang baer.

please note, that because of the postgis jdbc dependency on postgresql jdbc (libpgjava), which may be built only with non free tools, the status of the whole postgis package is, to date, "contrib". i will split postgis-jdbc apart in a few days, untill libpgjava will be buildable with free tools.
