Hi, Kevin,

I just tested your function (the version from 04/12/06 21:13), and get
the following error:

ERROR:  null value in column "type" violates not-null constraint
CONTEXT:  SQL statement "INSERT INTO geometry_columns
(f_table_catalog,f_table_schema, f_table_name, f_geometry_column,
coord_dimension, srid, type) VALUES ('',  $1 ,  $2 ,  $3 ,  $4 ,  $5 ,
$6 )"
PL/pgSQL function "populate_geometry_columns" line 159 at SQL statement
