To make binary packages easier, please instead install a script that
when run creates the template.  The build machine and the run machine
may well be different (and in a future ideal world even cross
compilation would be supported).  Such a script could be hooked into
the pkg install process if desired.

(I've created a binary package in pkgsrc for postgis built against
postgresql81.)
