Yah you can leave for 1.4.  I don't think its a commonly used function and  
MULTIPOINT
is not a common geometry type anyway.  I just noticed the error when I was  
coming up
with examples in the docs.  I had put in MULTIPOINT is not supported for  
this one
(well for 1.4 docs).  I'll just amend to say fixed in 1.4
