Sorry to not answer the question you are interested in, but just wanted
you to clarify something.
I always thought it was perfectly legal for a linestring to have 2
points.
Do you mean >= or just > ?
e.g.
example from my tiger data
"LINESTRING(-71.160644 42.260876,-71.160333 42.26122)"
If the above isn't legal - a lot of people I know will be very mad :)
