Comment:

 Okay. I believe my work here is done. Please test and let me know if you
 find anything.

 The only thing to note is that the loader still defaults to using INSERT
 syntax; to change the default for both the command line and GUI, simply
 change set_config_defaults(). Otherwise we can force it for just the GUI
 when shp2pgsql-gui starts.
