 Yah that was my first intuitive feeling too.  For ST_Difference its a bit
 clearer since I think A - B.

 I suppose it doesn't matter as long as we document it.

 our short doc is going to say (which will show in psql and pgAdmin will
 say something like)

 "Returns the point in geometry A that is closest to B."

 or if you change the other way
 "Returns the point in geometry B that is closest to geometry A"

 You are the inventor of this function -- you should have the final
 decision.  Though would be nice to hear from others.
