I gave SRID=0 a quick try and got hit by this:

 +ERROR:  AddGeometryColumns() - invalid SRID
 +PL/pgSQL function "addgeometrycolumn" line 4 at SQL statement
 +SQL statement "SELECT AddGeometryColumn('tt','node','geom','0','POINT','2')"

Is the SRID=0 thing just planned ?
Why exactly would we be changing semantic of -1 ?
