[postgis-devel] A first request from WKT Raster folks to PostGIS ones

For sure we can specify a minimal version of PostGIS.

A client can also request services from the server. What I ask here to PostGIS folks is to provide a sort of backward compatibility. We are certainly the only one using these functions, this is why PostGIS folk are not shy to remove them. We are just saying "Hey! We do need these functions. Could you not remove them".

I do not see this in the near future. What I try to do is to simplify our life and the one of our users for te first releases. Users already have installation problems.

Anyway, if you have a better suggestion to fix the problem of users having PostGIS 1.4.1 like this one:

I would be glad to ear it. We need real solution to real problems... Releasing a version for 1.4.1 and another for 1.5 does not make me very happy.
